Autumn charcuterie board recipe

Charcuterie boards are perfect for autumn in Dubai. Whatever your plans, you can enjoy a fresh lunch in the sunshine to really savour those delicious seasonal flavours.

Inspired by tips from Wanderlust & Wellness, Honest Cooking and Rachel’s Crafted Life, this is a great base for any picnic, but feel free to add your favourite foods to really make it your own.

To start, make sure you have those all-important picnic supplies - a blanket, crockery, drinks, even flowers for some lovely decoration. And, of course, the actual wooden board.

Next, the food. Check out the ingredients below for some seasonal suggestions, or just choose your favourite meats, cheeses, breads and crackers, then add some fruit, veg, nuts and dips.

Make sure you hit a good balance of sweet and salty items - you could even bring our apple and blueberry compote with yoghurt for a lovely, fresh dessert.

Whatever food you choose, present it in a pretty design and you’re all good to go! Just remember to share a photo of your beautiful board with us at @herogomena with #herogolife.

Ingredients

  • Radishes, sliced

  • Endive, sliced

  • Fennel, sliced

  • Cucumber, sliced

  • Broccoli, cooked & cooled

  • Snap peas

  • Oranges, peeled & segmented

  • Grapes

  • Figs, halved

  • Apricots, halved

  • Pears, cored & sliced

  • Baguette, sliced

  • Breadsticks

  • Crackers

  • Olives

Preparation

  1. Decide the amount of each ingredient you will use, taking into account the number of people you will serve and their likes/dislikes.

  2. Start with the fresh ingredients. Wash everything and prepare it however suits you best - we recommend chopping most of the fruit and veg.

  3. Put any sauces or dips into small ramekins.

  4. Then, it’s time to decorate. Begin by placing your ramekins on the board.

  5. Next, lay out any larger items, like bread or crackers.

  6. Finally, fill any spaces on the board with your smaller items, like grapes or olives.

  7. Have fun assembling it your way and, once you’re done, you’re ready to eat!
