Whether you’re looking for a new vegan recipe or a tasty new side dish, you have to try these cauliflower steaks from Healthy Recipes.
They might be quick to make, but that doesn’t mean they compromise on taste - the spices bring so much flavour to this simple dish.
For a delicious vegan feast, try serving with roast potatoes and your favourite veggies. For those who eat meat, these steaks go perfectly with poached eggs, chicken breast or baked salmon.
One quick food waste tip. When you’re preparing the cauliflower, don’t throw away the leaves. They’re perfectly good to eat, so try grilling, roasting or steaming them - they make a great substitute for leafy greens like kale.

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 200℃. Line a baking tray with tin foil and drizzle with oil.
Next, prepare the cauliflower. Start by washing both heads, then removing the leaves. Trim the stems but make sure the cores stay in one piece. Then, take each cauliflower head and cut it into slices that are 3/4 of an inch thick. You should get three steaks from each cauliflower, plus a few smaller florets from each end.
Put the steaks and florets on the baking tray and drizzle with a little oil.
Sprinkle half of the seasoning, garlic powder, paprika and coriander on top.
Put the tray in the oven and bake the steaks for 15 minutes.
Remove the tray from the oven and turn the steaks. Drizzle the other side with a little oil and sprinkle with the other half of the seasoning and spices.
Put the tray back in the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, until browned and tender.
Tips
To store: Once cool, put these steaks in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge for up to 4 days.
