Green Beans - Almondine

A delightful dish that brings together the crispiness of almonds and the tender goodness of green beans. With a touch of butter and a squeeze of lemon, this recipe takes ordinary green beans to a whole new level of deliciousness.

Overview:

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook time: 10 minutes

Serves: Side Dish

Ingredients

  • 300 gm green beans trimmed

  • 1 onion or shallot

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • Handful of almonds sliced

  • Lemon zest

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • Salt & pepper



Directions

  1. Blanche your green beans, boiling 3 to 5 minutes in salted water

  2. Plunge in a bowl with ice and water

  3. In a skillet, melt the butter or olive oil to bubbling

  4. Add sliced almonds and sauté untill golden brown

  5. Reduce the heat to low and add chopped shallots and garlic

  6. Sauté for an additional 1 to 2 minutes

  7. Add blanched green beans and keep tossing in pan, until evenly combined and the green beans are tender

  8. Add the lemon zest and lemon juice, toss once again

  9. Season to taste with salt and pepper, sprinkle the parmesan and serve immediately!


Tips

This Dish is perfect as a side dish to share with family and friends!

If you have any leftovers add it to a stir fry the next day to get the most out of these delicious veggies!
