Preparation
Put the apple juice and cinnamon in a saucepan then add the pears.
With the lid on, cook them at a gentle simmer for around 20 minutes - the pears should be a little soft.
Take out the pears and cinnamon stick, but keep simmering the apple juice for another 5 or 10 minutes until it becomes like a syrup.
Cut a little off the bottom of each pear so they will stand on a plate.
Using a skewer, make two little holes in each pear and put the currants inside - these will be the ghost’s eyes.
Underneath, make a small circle with sunflower seeds, pushing each seed into the pear so it stays in place - this will be the ghost’s mouth.
Drizzle each pear with some of the apple juice mixture, then serve.
