Persimmon smoothie bowl recipe

If you haven’t used persimmon in your cooking, this simple recipe from The Mindful Strawberry is a great place to start.

Not only is the fruit full of fiber and high in vitamins A and C, but the sweetness pairs perfectly with cinnamon and turmeric to really bring out the flavours.

Servings: 1 person

Prep time: 5 minutes


  • 2 persimmons, washed & chopped with the top & stem removed

  • 475ml almond milk

  • 1.5 frozen bananas

  • 2 dates, pitted

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Put most of the persimmon slices in a blender with the almond milk, bananas, dates, turmeric, cinnamon and vanilla extract.

  2. Blend until it reaches the consistency you’d like.

  3. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with the remaining persimmon slices. We recommend also adding some coconut flakes and pomegranate seeds before serving.


To store: We recommend eating this smoothie bowl straight away.
