Cinnamon toast

Get the day off to a great start with an extra-special brekkie.

Ready in just 15 minutes and made with only a handful of ingredients, this cinnamon toast from Baking Mischief is a great recipe to get the kids started in the kitchen.

Here’s how it’s done…

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C, then put 4 slices of bread in a single layer on an ungreased, unlined baking tray.

  2. In a bowl, use a fork to mix 56g softened salted butter, 50g granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.

  3. Once it becomes a paste, use this mixture to completely cover each side of the bread slices.

  4. Put the tray in the top half of the oven and bake for 10 minutes until the bread is lightly crispy.

  5. Turn the grill on high and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the sugar is bubbling. Keep an eye on the toast and make sure it doesn’t start to burn.

  6. Let it cool slightly before serving.

This tasty breakfast is great served on its own or with classic toppings like maple syrup, jam or bacon.
