Watermelon and cherry slushie

This slushie is so refreshing, it’s an absolute essential for summer.

An incredibly easy recipe by Yay! for Food, it only needs a handful of ingredients and it’ll be ready in no time at all.

Not only is it full of natural goodness, but it’s so delicious, that it’ll feel like such a treat as the temperature starts to rise.

Ingredients

455g watermelon, rind removed, flesh cubed & seeds removed

225g cherries, pitted

3 tsp fresh mint, chopped

1 tsp fresh mint, chopped

120-235ml water

Honey or maple syrup (optional)

Preparation


  1. Prepare the watermelon and cherries as outlined in the ingredients.

  2. Put the fruit pieces in a bag and place them in the freezer until frozen - this usually takes 2 or 3 hours.

  3. Once frozen, put them in a blender with the lime juice, mint and 120ml of water.

  4. Blend until smooth.

  5. If needed, add some more water to thin it out a little.

  6. If you’d like to make it sweeter, just add a little honey or maple syrup.

  7. Serve straight away.

To store:We recommend drinking this slushie straight away.
