Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook time: 35 minutes

Serves: 4-6 people

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe plums, pitted and sliced,

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar.

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats.

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour,

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed,

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon,

  • A pinch of salt,

  • Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving),

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced plums, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat the plums evenly.

  3. In another bowl, mix the oats, flour, remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

  4. Add the cold, cubed butter and use a fork or your fingers to incorporate it until the mixture forms crumbly texture.

  5. Transfer the sugared plums into a baking dish (8x8 inches or a similar size).

  6. Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the plums.

  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the plum filling is bubbling, and the topping is golden brown.

  8. Allow the Plum Crisp to cool slightly before serving. You can serve it warm or at room temperature, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

  9. ENJOY!

Tips!

Taste your plum filling mixture before baking and adjust the sugar to your liking. Some plums may be sweeter than others, so you can add more sugar if needed.
