Mango and date lassi recipe

Lassi is an Indian yogurt-based drink. With a consistency like a smoothie, it’s creamy, cool and perfect after a long day of fasting.

This simple recipe from Cookpad needs just a handful of ingredients and only takes 5 minutes to prepare for iftar.

Not only is it hydrating, but the yogurt has gut-friendly bacteria, and the mango provides lots of nutritional benefits while acting as a natural sweetener for that delicious taste.


Prep time: 5 minutes

Serves: 2 people


10 soft dates, stones removed

1 mango, cut into chunks

3 tbsp plain yogurt

120ml milk

60ml water

2 ice cubes


  1. Prepare your fruit.

  2. Put the dates and mango in a blender with the yogurt, milk, water and ice cubes.

  3. Blend everything for 2 to 3 minutes.

  4. If you’d like a smoother drink, pour the mixture through a fine sieve before serving.

  5. Enjoy!
